Designed as soft hands countermeasure training to control medical patients, clients, and unruly individuals. The techniques are based on gross motor skills for greater retention.
INSTRUCTIONAL GOAL:
Through lectures, demonstrations, role play, and practical scenario applications this course is designed to develop instructors in the In Diffusion Control and Restraint Instructor Training (D.C.R.T.) Students will be instructed in legal aspects of use of force, de-escalation communications and physical applications pertaining to patient control. Student will be instructed in using the amount of force necessary and reasonable to secure and control a violent resisting or combative patients. Student will also be instructed in teaching methodologies needed to instruct physical applications and test students for competency. Emphasis will focus on developing a strong knowledge of active diffusion strategies and immediate physical control tactics and techniques that is a direct, proportionate, and measured response to all levels of resistance and aggression in multi types of environmental settings.

Section I .
A.D.S. – Active Diffusion Strategies Student(s) will learn to identify the legal statues applicable to use of force defensive tactics and control techniques
- Student(s) will understand the principals and concepts of Patient Control and Restrain Training.

- Student(s) will learn eight concepts and benefits of customer service.
- Student(s) will learn the 3 C’s of conflict resolution.

Section II Control and Restraint Instructional Training Methods
- Student(s) will learn the importance of “Risk Management for violent encounters”.
- Student(s) will define a pre-programmed response.
- Student(s) will define and instruct skill development through focused repetition.
- Student(s) will define and instruct skill development through “chunking”.
- Student(s) will define and instruct tactical relocation strategies.
- Student(s) will define and instruct tactical stalling strategies.
- Student(s) will learn to identify the aspects of “Fear” and how to manage it.
- Students will be able to demonstrate basic six defensive tactics platforms from standing, kneeling and grounded position.
- Student(s) will understand the importance of “Immediate sensory overload “and how it relates to control in a spontaneous violent situation.
Section III
- Student(s) will demonstrate knowledge, ability to perform and instruct 7 solo and multiple employee coordinated control techniques against a standing resisting suspect.
- Student(s) will demonstrate knowledge, ability to perform and instruct the multiple counter defense techniques against an aggressive civilians / patient .
